the pps story

The PPS Story

Project Professional Services (PPS) was created from a conversation on how frustrating project services can be… and that it could be done better! Founder and Managing Director Steve Dybacz knew there was an opportunity to build a business that would give the telecommunications industry a dedicated project and professional services partner, and with his experience…PPS was born.

Australian owned and operated, PPS has been a leading telecommunications project services firm since 2016. Over time, PPS has incorporated IT and Civil Engineering services to their repertoire. With a long-term permanent and staff augmentation experience both in Australia and internationally, we focus on using our experience to help our clients and consultants find the right position, whether it’s a permanent or project based engagement.

  • Steve Dybacz
    Managing Director

Steve is a recruitment industry veteran, focused specifically on the Telecommunications industry. He has worked in recruitment both in Australia and in the United Kingdom. During his time in the industry, he has worked with organisations such as NBNCo, Telstra, Optus (to name a few) and numerous delivery partners on projects across a variety of disciplines within FTTP, FTTX, FTTC, FTTB, HFC, MDU, RAN, Wireless, Wideband and Mobile TX environments.

Born and raised on The Wirral, Steve relocated to Australia in 2008. Before that, he did a stint at Her Majesty’s service in the British Army, serving in the Royal Artillery stationed in the UK and across Europe.

Now a Sydney native, Steve co-founded PPS in 2016, aiming to change the way recruitment worked for the Telco space. Four years on and PPS is now a key recruitment partner across many businesses throughout the industry. Steve often writes and shares commentary on current industry trends and analysis, so follow him Linkedin to keep up to date!

Outside of running PPS, Steve is passionate about golf, learning Brazilian Jujitsu, and his beloved Everton FC. He’s also known for making the odd dubious decision when on the drink, including ending up on a flight to the USA and the Coachella Music Festival after one too many!

  • Jay Russell
    Partner

Jay is a core part of the PPS business, running our IT-focused arm. He has worked in technology recruitment since 2011 and made a move to project services in 2016.

It’s been a different kind of journey for Jay, moving into the recruitment and project services industry. After starting his working life as a chef, Jay cut his teeth in the world of sales the old school way… working the streets selling gym memberships! From there his passion for sales grew and led to a career in recruitment before joining PPS as a Partner in 2020.

Jay has a ton of IT industry experience and is a gun at finding the right person for your role or project across a variety of markets, including Telecommunications, Insurance, utilities and IT start-ups. He works across a number of domains including software development (UX, QA, AI/machine learning, mobile development, DevOps), infrastructure (cloud, networking, storage and server administration), data (DB administration, predictive analytics, data visualisation, data management), cyber security (analytics, privacy, compliance, metrics), and project services (agile, transformation, business change).

Outside of his role at PPS, Jay has three amazing children with his fiancé, loves hitting the gym, surfing, snowboarding, and is learning Brazilian Jujitsu. He’s also keen on the horses and is known for delivering the occasional hot tip – all care, no responsibility of course!

  • Tadhg Stack
    Partner

Tadhg Stack literally grew up in the construction industry: As a child, instead of his working parents sending him to child care, his dad tied a cot into the back of his work van and brought him to work with him!

After earning a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Degree in Business and Education, Tadhg started his career teaching business and maths in his native Ireland…when he realised he was too young to be back in a classroom and headed for the warmer climate in Australia. After backpacking around the Great Southern Land for two years, Tadhg went to work at one of Sydney’s leading Civil Engineering firms. It’s here that he cut his teeth in recruitment and workforce operations and realised that it was the career for him.

Now a Sydney native, Tadhg joined PPS in November 2019 to run our dedicated Civil Engineering business, helping our clients with their recruitment, plant, and labour hire needs.

Outside of PPS, Tadhg is a Rugby Union fanatic and has captained the Sydney Irish Rugby Union club. He’s also enjoys tennis, golf (especially beating Steve), horse riding, and boating. You’ll also find him at the bar telling a story or two, and hopefully shouting a round!
